Privacy Policy

• Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored securely as a hash) when you register as a shopper, vendor, or market organizer.
• Listing details: business or market name, story, location, contact email and phone, photos, products, pricing, and schedule information you choose to publish.
• Conversations: messages you send to or receive from vendors, market organizers, or other users through our in-app messaging.
• Facebook Page connection: if you connect a Facebook Page, we retrieve and cache your Page's name and the text and images of your most recent posts so they can be shown on your profile or the platform feed. We only read your Page's posts — we never post on your behalf.
• Referral & free Pro information: your unique referral code, the accounts that signed up using it, and a ledger of free Pro months you have earned or had adjusted (sign-up welcome, referral rewards, and admin changes) so rewards can be tracked, credited, and audited.
• Community resource details: if you claim or create a More Than Food listing (food pantry, thrift store, furniture bank, etc.), we store the organization name, address, hours, requirements, and contact details you publish, plus any surplus food posts and volunteer needs you create.
• Experiences, recipes & menus: details and photos for any classes, tours, workshops, recipes, or food truck menu items you publish as a vendor.
• Market scheduling & messaging: market days, vendor slot assignments and requests, invitations, check-ins, and the messages exchanged between vendors and market organizers through in-app threads.
• Follows: a record of which vendors a shopper follows, used to deliver updates.
• Usage data: pages visited, profile views, website and order-link clicks, and device/browser information used to improve the marketplace and to provide analytics to vendors and markets.

• To create and manage your account, vendor profile, or market profile.
• To display listings and facilitate contact between shoppers, vendors, and market organizers.
• To show your latest Facebook Page posts on your profile or the platform feed.
• To track and credit referrals and free Pro rewards when you invite other vendors or markets.
• To connect shoppers with community resources and to facilitate surplus food, volunteer, and general inquiries.
• To send service notifications (e.g., new messages, application status, market invitations, slot requests).
• To moderate content, enforce our Community Guidelines, and prevent fraud.
• To improve site performance and user experience.
• To power the optional Hired Hand AI assistant for Pro subscribers, which reads your own account data to draft copy and answer questions.

Subscription payments for vendors and market organizers are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number — Stripe handles all payment data securely. We retain subscription status and transaction metadata (such as the Stripe subscription id and renewal dates) for billing, record-keeping, and to manage cancellations.

• Stripe processes subscription payments. Your card data is handled by Stripe under its own privacy policy and never stored on our servers.
• Facebook (Meta) is used only when you choose to connect a Facebook Page. We receive your Page's name and recent posts through Facebook's Graph API; your connection is governed by Meta's policies and you can disconnect at any time.
• AI provider: when you use the Hired Hand AI assistant, your prompts and the relevant account data are sent to our AI provider to generate a response. The provider processes this data solely to return your answer and does not use it to train its models.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may disclose limited information when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of our community.

The Hired Hand AI assistant is an optional Pro feature. When you use it, the following applies:

• What it reads: Hired Hand reads your own vendor or market account data — such as your profile, products, reviews, pre-orders, and schedule — to answer questions and draft content. It does not read other users' private data.
• What you send: the text of your prompts and questions is sent to our AI provider along with the relevant account data needed to respond.
• Conversation history: your Hired Hand conversations are stored with your account so you can revisit them. You can start a new conversation at any time.
• No training: our AI provider does not use your prompts or data to train its models.
• Your responsibility: do not include sensitive personal, financial, or confidential business information in your prompts. Review all AI-drafted content before publishing.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. When you delete your account, your data is removed as described in the next section. Some records may be retained where required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as billing, fraud prevention, and tax record-keeping.

You can delete your account and personal data at any time, and you do not need to live in any particular state to do so. There are two ways to request deletion:

• In-app: Vendors can use the "Delete account" button in their dashboard. Market organizers and other users can email us (below) to request deletion.
• By email: Contact us at morethancornmarket@gmail.com with the subject "Account Deletion Request" from the email address on your account.

When you delete a vendor account, we remove:

• Your vendor profile and all of its content (story, photos, location, contact details).
• All of your product, experience, recipe, and food truck menu listings.
• Your customer conversations and vendor-market message threads.
• Your market schedule entries, slot requests, and lounge posts and replies.
• Your referral code, referral history, and any remaining free Pro reward balance.
• Your surplus food posts and any More Than Food listings you manage.
• Your user account credentials and login.

We may retain the following even after deletion:

• Customer reviews may remain visible so other shoppers have honest context, but your business name is removed from the reviewer attribution where shown.
• Billing and transaction records held by Stripe and any records we must keep for tax, accounting, or legal purposes.
• Aggregated or anonymized analytics that can no longer be linked to you.

We process verified deletion requests within 30 days. If you connect a Facebook Page, you can disconnect it at any time from your dashboard, which stops further post retrieval; previously cached posts are removed when you disconnect or delete your account.

We may use cookies and basic analytics tools to understand how the site is used and to improve performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings, including disabling them entirely, though some site features may not function as intended without them.

Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

You may access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time. Iowa residents may have additional rights under state law. To exercise any right, contact us at morethancornmarket@gmail.com.
