Iowa Pan-Fried Pork Chops

Iowa raises more hogs than any state in the nation. These simple, perfectly pan-fried chops are a weeknight supper staple.

You'll need

Ingredients

4 bone-in pork chops, 1 inch thick 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp black pepper 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp smoked paprika 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 3 tbsp vegetable oil 1/4 cup butter 1/3 cup chicken broth 2 tbsp honey

How to make it

Instructions

Season the chops on both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Dredge lightly in the flour, shaking off excess. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chops 4-5 minutes per side until golden and the internal temperature reaches 145°F. Remove the chops to a plate and cover loosely with foil. Reduce heat to medium, add the butter, broth, and honey to the pan; simmer 2 minutes. Return the chops to the pan and spoon the sauce over them. Serve hot.
